Last weekend, 20th & 21st August, our Zone juniors played in the NSW U18 Junior Inter Zone 7 A Side Championship at West Dubbo BC, against some of the best junior bowlers’ in NSW and during “interesting” weather conditions.
At the end of the day, Zone 14 (Dubbo and west thereof) won the Championship Shield and we congratulate them on their victory.
While our guys’ were unsuccessful in their endeavours, they never gave an inch to their more experienced opponents. Indeed, one or two of their opponents received a shock and had to call on their experience to win their games.
Side Manager/Junior Committeeman Brad and I were proud of the guy’s efforts and are sure valuable experience was gained by their participation at this higher level of Bowls, which will assist them in their future bowls engagements.
