The Zone finals of the NSW Rookies Competition were played on Saturday & Sunday, 26th & 27th September, at East Cessnock BC. The Singles were decided on Saturday and the Pairs on Sunday.
As previously advised, the District had two qualifiers for the Singles Event and it is with great pleasure that I announce Stephen Phillips of Taree Leagues won the Zone title. It should be noted that his Club mate, Norm Copeland, came second to Stephen; in all, a great result for the players’, their Club and the District.
Stephen now travels to Raymond Terrace BC in October to play for the State title.
Our representatives in the Pairs competition were not successful in their endeavours; however, Rodney & Stephen from Harrington would have gained valuable experience.
