The Manning District held its final Presentation Night as a District, on Friday, 6th November, 2015, at Forster BC. As all should now be aware, we will be known as Zone 11 (etc.) as from 1st January, 2016.
It is a milestone, as the District has been involved as a member District within Zone Six since 1956 and future Presentation Functions will now be under the Zone 11 auspices.
The District was honoured with the presence of Bowls NSW Director, Duncan Tait, along with Zone Six President Bruce Elliott and Secretary/Treasurer Rob Wyatt. There were some 80 odd people in attendance and all reports indicate that an enjoyable night was had by all.
Apart from the Championships Awards, the main interest centered on the Bowlers’ of the Year. The Junior Bowler of the year was Ryan McGuire of Tuncurry Beach BC, who won all Junior titles for 2015.
The “Open” Bowler of the Year proved to be a tight affair, with the points going down to Club Championships results. However, it was pleasing to all to see a fresh face on the Trophy, with Noel James of Tuncurry Beach BC crowned District Bowler of the Year.
The District congratulates both Ryan & Noel on their achievements, with congratulations also going to all Championship winners. Indeed, congratulations are also extended to all participants in the District Events, irrespective of where they finished. Well done all and good luck in 2016.
